Each of these Principals has had extensive experience in acquiring, planning, developing and selling residential real estate. Over these many years they have developed numerous relationships in the debt, equity and real estate markets.

Don Brooks, Principal

Thirty-five years of experience in real estate development, finance and management.
Served as General Counsel & CFO of planned community developer Peachtree Corners and President & COO of The Landmarks Group, an office and mixed-use developer.
Served as Senior VP & Investment Committee Member of publicly-traded REIT Beacon Properties Corporation.
Served as Adviser to The Macauley Companies, developer of large-scale, planned residential communities.
Real Estate Broker, CPA, Attorney, Registered Lobbyist & Expert Witness on real estate matters.

Randy Herron, Principal

Over twenty years of experience in real estate development, finance and operations.
Senior Financial Officer for national and regional firms such as The Landmarks Group and Place Properties involved in multi-family and commercial development.
Closed over $1 billion in real estate financing and has managed construction finance and accounting activities.
Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and Attorney in the State of Georgia.

Wayne Etheridge, Principal

Over thirty years of experience in property operations, sales and leasing.
Previously, EVP and Regional Managing Director for Grubb & Ellis and similar roles for Insignia/ESG, The Landmarks Group, and Cousins Properties.
Has overseen management and leasing of over 100 million square feet of commercial properties and billions of dollars in leasing and sales transactions.
Has been a long-time member of NAIOP, ICSC, IREM and BOMA.

Dan Tatum, Principal

Over thirty-five years of experience providing engineering services for all real estate product types.
Served as National Director of Engineering Services and in other key engineering roles for top real estate firms like Lincoln Property Company, The Landmarks Group and Insignia/ESG.
Professional Engineers Certification in Application Engineering, including disciplines in Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Michael Putman, Managing Director

Over sixteen years of experience directing property management, residential and commercial leasing, renovation and marketing programs for diversified real estate firms.
Project Director for Synergy’s distressed loan/REO portfolios.
Responsible for the day-to-day management operations of Synergy’s Property Services Group. Oversees due diligence assignments and the pursuit of multi-family acquisitions for Synergy’s clients. Has proven success in increasing occupancy, reducing operation costs and improving financial returns within highly competitive metro, suburban and college markets. Has strong general management qualifications in staffing, budgeting, project management, due diligence reviews, third party service contracting and negotiations.
Served as Regional Property Manager for national firms Place Properties, Executive Affiliates, Integroup Realty Trust and RW Management Group involved in multi-family conventional and student housing development and operations.

Jim Smoot, Managing Director

Thirty years of experience in multifamily property management, renovations and property acquisitions/dispositions.
Previously, Regional Vice President for Steven D. Bell & Company and similar roles at Insignia Residential Group and Balcor Property Management.
Has overseen the acquisition, renovation and successful disposition of 30 multifamily properties with a $400 million aggregate value.
Licensed Real Estate Sales Person in Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.
